Glasgow International 2026 – Hannan Jones & The Camelia Committee

We are excited to introduce our Glasgow International 2026 artists with whom we are working to develop new work across the next 10 months; Hannan Jones & The Camelia Committee.
Expanding the program beyond the GI festival period we will host two screening events drawing on the themes and previous works of our commissioned artists in October 2025 and January 2026.
Mira Adoumier is a researcher, filmmaker and visual artist. Carine Doumit is a film editor, writer and researcher. Nour Ouayda is a filmmaker and film programmer. Together they form The Camelia Committee, exploring the relationships between image, text, voice and sound through writing, research, filmmaking and film programming. Originally based in Beirut, their work also calls out to other territories.
Hannan Jones explores hybridity, language, and the social rhythms of migration through sound, sculpture, installation, and moving image. In the pursuit of fostering ‘togetherness’ and creating spaces to expand perspectives. She has retraced free speech movements, highlighted survival tactics, and investigated how shifting borders shape identity, place, and collective survival. Sonically, Jones uses improvisation, electronics, musique concrète, and analogue recordings, layering sound to construct alternate narratives and reclaim parallel histories.
