Sunday 19th October, Market Gallery, 2 – 6pm

Join us for an afternoon of participative readings, performance and poetry in the workers’ theatre tradition.

Together we will read and perform new translations of plays by the German revolutionary Berta Lask, anti-colonial agitprop pieces like Hands Off China! (1927) and Meerut (1933), and the work of East End playwrights like Freddy Anderson and Ann Kerr on the radical history of the Calton’s weaving industry.

In the tradition of the workers’ theatre, we will play with choral voice, collective reading and the living newspaper to investigate the forms that best resonate today.

Food and refreshments provided, or BYOB!

Free but ticketed. Reserve your place here
