Performance by Anya Sirina – as part of GUIDE by Jonny Walker

October 21, 2026 2:34 pm

As part of Jonnny Walker’s solo exhibition GUIDE, please join us for a performance by Anya Sirina on Friday 23rd October at 7.30pm

** The performance will last around 12 minutes and strobe lighting will be used throughout the performance **

A person with long dark hair, wearing blue jeans, a black short-sleeved top and black shoes, photographed mid-movement with their arms in the air. Their image has been captured with their back facing the camera. They are in a white-walled room with a blue/black gloss floor. The entire image is out of focus.

The performance grows from Anya’s ongoing interest in temporality – how it is experienced, resisted, revealed, and restructured through the body, materials, sound, and landscape. Drawn to movements that place tension on the body, Anya begins with a simple movement task or gesture, pushing it through repetition, reversal, changes in speed and duration, allowing the action to shift and eventually exhaust itself. Through these actions, Anya makes time physical, expressing how the body transforms, slows, resists and adapts to the passage of time.
