UNDONE

September 23, 2021 11:23 am

Market Gallery is inviting expressions of interest from Scotland based artists to participate in UNDONE – a conversation about practice facilitated by Aman Sandhu. The practices of each participating artist will be centred in a day-long meeting. UNDONE refuses the metrics and logistics of capture often relied upon in artistic practice and representation. We consider the title artist to encompass creative practices that exist both inside and outside of institutions. You do not need to have attended art school or sit neatly into the categories of emerging, mid-career or established. UNDONE is ideal for those seeking a conversation about their work that is deliberate, entangled, and in reiterant renewal. The conversation will occur at Market Gallery at the end of October and will not be public, documented or recorded. There will be the capacity to host an exhibition of your work at Market in the days following should this be an option that makes sense for the group.

There is a £500 fee provided to each participant. An expression of interest can take any form that you see fit, whether that is an email to migratorystomp@gmail.com, or a DM message or voice note to Market Gallery’s Instagram handle. Tell us a bit about yourself and your practice and a few words about why you want to participate in UNDONE. The process of selection will not be based on any predetermined structure of merit but rather the selected participants will be considered in relation to each other to form an ensemble of sorts.
