Adjust Lavalier (a Performance for Voice and Musical Glasses) | Douglas Morland

June 26, 2014 7:03 am

Opening event and performance: Saturday 28 June, 8pm (performance at 8.30pm)

Time After Time is a new exhibition and series of events at Market Gallery as part of Generation, a nationwide programme showcasing art in Scotland from the past 25 years. The project will consider the approach of Generation itself, and questions the historicising of artists and artwork through ongoing performances, talks and other events, and an exhibition that will take place from 11 July – 1 August 2014. The exhibition will feature artists Douglas Morland, Scott Rodgers and Darren Tesar who have been invited to reshow or reimagine existing works that have a connection to the place as a subject or by virtue of it’s origin, and works that have duration elements that corner a larger conversation about time.

Time After Time will launch with Douglas Morland’s Adjust Lavalier (a Performance for Voice and Musical Glasses) which stems from a preoccupation with the lexicon and imagery of the worlds of stage and broadcasting and re-imagines the early radio or TV studio as a kind of ‘séance room’.
